Du côté des calculs scientifiques, nous utilisons Mathematica 5.2 de Wolfram Research et son benchmark intégré, à savoir le MathematicaMark2004.


Cette fois les Athlon 64 X2 ne sont pas en mesure de tenir la comparaison avec les Core 2 Duo.

Les tests intégrés dans MathematicaMark2004 sont les suivants : Data Fitting, Digits of Pi, Discrete Fourier Transform, Egeinvalues of a Matrix, Elementary Functions, Gamma Function, Large Integer Multiplication, Matrix Exponential, Matrix Multiplication, Matrix Transpose, Numerical Integration, Polynomial Expension, Random Number Sort, Singular Value Decomposition, Solving a Linear System.
WinRAR 3.61
Depuis la version 3.6 WinRAR est doté d'optimisations multithread. Nous compressons en RAR au niveau le plus poussé un total de 588 Mo de fichiers, répartis en 493 fichiers Word & Excel (69 Mo), 22 fichiers de boîte e-mail Eudora (251 Mo) et 1 fichier audio au format wav (268 Mo).


Le passage en 65nm n'arrange rien pour AMD, au contraire, et il faut atteindre le 5600+ pour avoir un niveau de performance supérieur à un "simple" E6400 !
